How to Choose the best cable for your CCTV camera

The beginning of 21st century showed an incredible progress in the field of technology and science. In this world we are always connected and are able to interact with people across the world. The planet that we live in right now did not increase in its size but your world sure did. To keep an eye over this ever expanding world we came up with devices that were basically our eyes on the skies.

The piece of technology that I am talking about here is the CCTV. This piece of technology has completely revolutionized our modern world and has helped us in numerous ways. From catching the criminal performing the crime to saving the innocent from being wrongfully accused, it has done it all.  An instrument such as this therefore needs to be carefully purchased.

While purchasing a CCTV one must give importance on the cctv cable that they are taking with the camera. It is the cable for the CCTV camera that actually makes a difference while capturing the act in progress.

There are mainly two types of cctv cables in the market, one is the Plug and play cable and the other is the RG59 Coax Siamese cable. The plug and play cable is pretty much like a normal audio visual cable that can be hooked up to a stereo or a television set. The connector ends for power, video and audio are all pre-attached to the wires and are all colour coordinated. One disadvantage that comes with this cable is that they are not properly shielded, and you may get interference on your video feed if the lines run over a long distance.

The RG59 Siamese Cable on the other hand has a video coaxial with a pair of 18-gauge power cables all bunded in one jacket. It is even better shielded and properly insulated than the plug and play cables and therefore will give you no interference on your video feed. It is even more durable than the plug and play cables. On the downside the Siamese cables do not have audio cable and its installation is not as easy as plug and play cables.

Therefore, what Is left for me to say is that be careful while selecting your CCTV and be even more attentive towards the cable that you will buy for your camera. Be sure that the cable fulfils your specific need so that you can see and keep a track of everything.
